In the 1960’s American Rug laid out a huge green carpet made of Dupont 501 nylon on High St in Holyoke for the St Patrick’s Day parade. Thousands of people and all the floats, cars and other motor vehicles drove over this large piece of carpet. American Rug planned to show how well the carpet could be cleaned (after the torture test) in their advanced cleaning plant. American Rug showed the comparison of a brand new piece of carpet against the soiled material that American Rug cleaned. The results were nothing less than outstanding.
In 1989 William Radner, 3rd generation, took over upon his father Sidney Radner’s retirement. It was not long after this that American Rug was widely known in Western Mass to be able to handle large jobs that required great capability with their crew of highly trained certified installers that were store employees.
American Rug’s crews have tackled jobs as far as Washington DC and Bangor Maine. American Rug has even sold and contracted out work to competent installation crews in Palm Beach, Florida condominiums. Large schools, universities, insurance companies, air force bases, retail centers, 5 star Inns, restaurants, banquet halls etc are handled with great expertise.
